When I began with the OU (2 years ago) I was suprised to learn that my approach to feedback, +ve start, -ve middle, +ve end was called the OU sandwhich - OU and I never knew it.

There is a difference between handwriting responeses and typing them. I am glad I started handwriting as the ache of having to write the same thing on each script focuses the mind on being economical and precise with language. This means my responses (as comments in an eTMA) are now careful and deliberate. Well I think so.

eTMA also let you rewrite sections of essays and allow students to 'see where they may have gone wrong'.

I find the most useful thing about the PT3 is  being able to use it as a link to other resources. At the end of my comments I always signpost new stuff on the TGforum, the next tutorial, or other resources that may be useful
